Even without PASCO sensors, you can use SPARKvue to collect data from the internal accelerometer in your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. With no external sensor connected, SPARKvue defaults to measuring the resultant acceleration from the internal accelerometer, but you can change the axis of measurement when you setup your experiment. • How do I make a new experiment? From the main experiment listing, press the “+” in the upper right. This will create a new experiment using your currently connected sensor. • How do I edit an experiment? Touch on the disclosure arrow next to the experiment name in the main experiment list. Note that you can only change the measurement associated with an experiment if the experiment doesn’t have any data in it. • The navigation bars block some of my data display, how do I hide them? To hide the navigation and tool bars, double-tap the screen with one finger. To restore them, double-tap again. • All I see is a graph, how do I look at my data in a different display type? To change displays, make sure the navigation and tool bars are displayed (see above) and swipe horizontally. The dots in the lower tool bar indicate your place within the experiment displays. • How do I autoscale the graph? Double-tap with two fingers on the graph to autoscale. • How do I export data from SPARKvue? From within an experiment, you can export data via email using the button in the lower right corner of the screen. The data is attached to an email as a zipped file of comma separated values, and can be imported into a wide variety of data analysis software (e.g., Numbers). If you have only one run of data displayed, you can also open that run in any other applications on your iOS device that support comma separated data. • Where do I get sensors?
